I loved wetting my paper then dropping the watercolor powder down, sit back & enjoy the show. They burst like fireworks when they hit the paper & water. It’s amazing how it moves with such grace. The colors are absolutely stunning & so well pigmented as you can see in my photos. I’m extremely happy with these watercolor powders. ️

Absolutely the most fun watercolor medium I’ve ever used. I’m not a professional artist, however I use doing art as physical therapy which also makes me happy. Every art supply in this SketchBox was amazing. The watercolor powder was my favorite. You can use them many ways. It was so magical to sprinkle a little on the watercolor paper and use a spray bottle to spray it and water the watercolor play and mix with the water. I chose to use it in abstract way and do layering on top. It’s worth getting this box—better yet a subscription— to see the surprises you’ll get and to add to your art supplies.

Enjoyed everything in the box except the liner/pen. Would have preferred black or brown.
The watercolors are super vibrant and fun to work with. I like that the box contained everything I need to create something rather than just swatch and test.

Fair warning: the Navy Blue powder is closer to the color on the turquoise bottle and the Turquoise powder is closer in color to what's on the navy blue bottle; its almost like they put on the wrong labels or filled the bottles with the wrong colors. This is visible in the sketchbox demo as well but it's not commented on, which I think is a mistake; please acknowledge the screw up even if you're not able to fix it!
Regardless of this, the items in the box all work very well; the watercolor is smooth and mixes fairly well with the powders, the brush is a fairly decent quality one with a bit of a snap to it, and the fineliner and paper are great quality! One more note: please be careful when dispensing the powders! The bottles are designed in such a way that you do NOT need to squeeze them to get the powder out, if you do you risk dispensing far more than you need and it WILL spread outside the confines of your palette! You'll be fine if you just turn them upside down and shake gently until you have enough, even if it takes a lil more time.

Love this box! These powdered watercolors are extremely rich and you can get a light wash or an intense dark from the same color. Amazing color bursts appear when you add water to the powder on paper. They can be used in various ways and take a little practice to figure out what method you like best, but that's part of the fun. :)

The powder paints were not sealed well. Very difficult to remove from other products shipped with them. Also, hard to remove if on skin. Beautiful intense colors, but i feel the powder is too messy. All other supplies were great!

The powdered watercolours are vibrant and extremely concentrated. The colours are beautiful and it was fun to play with sprinkling the powder onto wet paper and watching what happens. This was something I would not have necessarily found at an art store in my area so it is great to have it delivered to my house

I was really excited to try these powders. The pigments were so intense. A little goes a very long way. I really enjoyed how they layered and mixed together. Having the option to add them to the white watercolour is a great idea. The Copic fine liner pen is great. Very fluid in with robust nib. I hope there are going to be more in future boxes so I can add to the collection.

Thank you, Sketchbox! I especially liked the included brush & postcard size paper block that allow me to experiment with quick sketches like these, painted front our table over morning coffee. :) These are my first attempts using powdered water color; a little goes farther than phthalo blue so I recommend swatching and lots of experimentation. Truly a fun, inspired collection.
