SketchBox exclusive Zig Clean Color Real Brush Set

Its my first time using watercolor brush markers. It likely will affect how I use watercolors as well. I like being able to do the layering, wash, and lift techniques that I use with watercolors. With only using the 4 colors, it did force a limited palette. Now, I wasn't getting as crisp lines as I would have liked so I pulled out the Emott fine liners that I also got through Sketchbox. That was the drawing with the wine glass on the balcony post.

So the markers flowed well and are juicy. Now, working with these watercolor markers will likely change how I work with water-based markers going forward. These markers encouraged me to reach for the brush and do more with them. Thus, I did a bunch of blending. The paper that you use has a lot of bearing on how the markers will behave for blending and lifting. I did one drawing with just the markers. Then I pulled out the Emoti fineliners from a previous set. I didn't chose them based on whether they were water or alcohol based but rather because their colors complemented these watercolor markers. Having the fineliners gave some crisper lines although the fine points on the ZIG markers worked well for creating small details. The filbert brush I used also worked well for the right amount of detail and to do broader strokes as well.
